Architecting Applications in Macromedia Central

Let me bookmark this page, Architecting Applications in Macromedia Central at Macromedia.

It reads “Over the short history of web software development we have seen many of the same patterns and solutions emerge that were and still are commonplace in developing desktop applications. We started with simple web applications that displayed dynamic data based upon user input. Over time software developers began to join the fold of web application developers and the demands for more stateful and functional clients increased as the population of the Internet grew. The problem of refactoring and reuse became more and more troublesome as the size and complexity of web applications grew as well. Developers began to adopt tried and true methodologies such as object-oriented design and component-based software.”

Further details, “In many ways the Flash development community has followed the same pattern, moving from a simple scripting language in Flash 4 to a fully object-oriented environment with a rich set of user interface and data abstraction components in Macromedia Flash MX 2004. Macromedia Central introduces a potentially new level of complexity to building applications using Macromedia Flash. This article discusses how Central hopes to solve those problems head-on.”
