Flash Updater 7.2

A new improved update to Flash have been released. Focusing on a number of key areas like Performance, Stability, Resource Usage, Usability, Components and Documentation, it also have added the likes of a Scrollbar component, a JSFL File API, an EventDelegate class, two complete sample projects, an ASO Cache Cleaning Commands (available from the Macromedia Exchange). The release notes is the place for you to read more details about bug fixes and improvements.

July 2004 Meeting

This is time again for software distribution from Macromedia to Registrant Usergroups. Mr. Edward Sullivan was kind enough to inform me that this time around Macromedia will be delivering software to the groups via a serial number and below is how the process will work.
We will select a winner from amongst the registered members. Then the winner will be instructed on how to get his/her software which is a full commercial license. The winner have to download the trial version of the software that they have been awarded off mm.com and then the serial will be provide make the product a full license. The winner’s information will be entered into Macromedia’s system, associating the serial number given with the individual who won it as well as with the group that awarded it. The software licence is valid for claim till January 31, 2005. You will be entitled to choose any Macromedia Product below the cost of $1500, which means that excludes the likes of AW, Breeze, Flex, CF Ent, etc.
This particular prize will be awarded at the July 2004 Meeting, details of the meeting detailed below. This means that the prize will surely go to only registered IndiaMMUG members who can attend the meeting. Please remember, we are a bit concerned about proper timing.

Venue: Barista Coffee at Santacruz (west) along SV Road, Santacruz (w), Mumbai
Date-Time: Friday, July 30, 2004, 7:30 p.m. (after office hour)
The Venue is about 5 minutes walk along Akbarali’s from Railway Station.

Building really annoying websites

I was looking at the examples and codes of the book, “Building Really Annoying Websites”. The site have many working demos which are to me indeed cool. This would be something useful to look into so that we avoid anything near to any of the points. Have some fun watching the demos.

Macromedia Product RSS Feeds

Macromedia have released the RSS product notifications for 14 different Macromedia products, and they will include TechNote notifications, security bulletins and product update notifications. The links to the RSS feeds can be used to monitor news about Macromedia products. Each time Macromedia releases a TechNote, security bulletin, or information about a product update, the Macromedia Product RSS Feeds will be updated accordingly. By using an aggregator you can watch for important Macromedia product news. The news comes to you.
